Roosters in Love has been written for The Raschèr Saxophone Quartet during the summer 1999. The composition is inspired by three paintings of Marc Chagall: The Rooster in Love, Grandfather Clock with Blue Wing and Solitude. All three of them, quite different from each other by character, seem to be filled with a special "nostalgic" feeling, very typical for the artist.
